Icon Mixer
Using the integrated Icon Mixer of icofx you can quickly create your icons, from premade icon sets, by combining and colorizing symbols and overlays. To open the icon mixer, use the "Tools/Icon Mixer..." menu item.

The icon mixer dialog
- Toolbar: The toolbar of the icon mixer provides quick access to the most used features.
- Collection: The Collection list box contains a list of your created icons. You can add/delete icons to this list.
- Icon Set area: The Icon Set contains a list of your free and purchased icon sets and its categories.
- Symbol area: This part allows you to select the symbol of your icon.
- Overlay area: This part allows you to select the overlay of your icon.
- Preview: Here you can see your icon, the symbol combined with the overlay.
- Customization area: You can configure the icon's look and feel.
The symbols of the icon sets are designed as pixel perfect scalable vector images aligned to a 16x16 and/or a 32x32 grid. You can export your icons to scalable vector images (SVG file) or to different sized raster image formats like BMP, PNG, JPEG or icon files.

Different image sizes generated from a vector source image
The symbols and overlays of some icon set (like the Office Icon Set) are available in two sizes. One small size aligned to a 16x16 grid, and one large size aligned to a 32x32 grid, with different level of details. This way your icons will look good on Windows ribbons in both sizes. Icons generated with a size smaller than 32x32 will use the small size while icons larger than 32x32 will use the larger size.
