TroubleshootingThis section will try to give answer to some common problems when using IcoFX. The new language of the interface is not displayed correctly IcoFX uses non-Unicode language files. You need to configure Windows in such a way that it supports the non-Unicode language files. Please select the desired language at: Control Panel -> Regional And Language Options -> Advanced -> Language for non- Unicode Programs. This will allow IcoFX to show the language files correctly.

Extract Macintosh files from *.sit files You must use a software called Stuffit Expander to extract the icons from the sit archive. After you have extracted the icons you can open them with IcoFX. How to change Macintosh icons (for Mac users) The problem is that the icns icon files do not have a preview (they do not show their on icon in the Get Info window). You can use a freeware tool called icns2icon to set the preview of the icon. After that you can copy and paste the icon from one Get Info window to the other. Cannot assign file extensions under Windows XP To assign file extensions to IcoFX you must be logged in as an administrator, or a user who has rights to write to the registry. Cannot assign file extensions under Windows Vista To assign file extensions to IcoFX you must be logged in as an administrator, or a user who has rights to write to the registry.
